Another one of the many things to do in Pokhara is visiting the World Peace Pagoda. The best way to visit the Pagoda is to experience a boat ride and quick hike for a full day of activities. Walk down to Lakeside and hire one of the boats with a rower to take you across the lake. Then hike up the hill with a stop for tea or lunch along the way. Just a ten minutes walk from the Mahendra Cave, is the Bat Cave. In Nepali language, it is also called Chameri Gufa. As the name suggests, it is named after the many bats that cover the cave’s wall and the ceilings. Tourists can walk in easily as there are lighted ways, and a guide available if requested.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave

Mahendra cave is also one of the major tourist attractions in Pokhara. It is located at Batulechaur, Pokhara just a few kilometers away from the town. As, the name suggests, it is named after the name of the Late king Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The cave itself is amazing with various natural shapes and images of the many hindu god and goddess on the stone made of the lime. Electricity is provided through out the cave and additional torch and emergency lights can be taken for the convenience. The area is surrounded by the community forest at the hillside and at the end of road there flows the small river called the Kali Khola.
